[Remote] Specialist Information Security Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Arsys is a leading Spanish IT company with over 25 years of experience, part of the IONOS Group. The role focuses on the detection and mitigation of security threats and involves working with security monitoring systems, advising on protective measures, and supporting the security team in incident resolution.

Responsibilities

• Systematic detection and mitigation of threats
• Drive the implementation of proactive and reactive measures to protect internal infrastructure
• Understand the detection and evaluation of security incidents
• Subsequent analysis and suggest suitable protective measures
• Work on security monitoring system (SIEM)
• Maintenance, updates, monitoring and all administrative tasks
• Work on global platform defenses writing web application firewall rules
• Test them and support in resolving false positives
• Advise internal customers on the selection of suitable protective measures
• Support implementation and make them measurable
• Support Arsys Security in their daily tasks
• Detecting, triaging, analysing and resolving security incidents

Skills

• In-depth experience in the field of cyber security
• Solid hands-on knowledge of cyber security
• Good experience in the field of security analysis (detection, analysis, evaluation, mitigation, prevention)
• Familiarity with relevant tools (e.g. Splunk)
• Experience in analyzing vulnerabilities in common web applications like Wordpress and its plugins
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good English skills
• Quality awareness
• Personal responsibility
• Ability to work in a team
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python to automate processes
