[Remote] Anti-Trafficking Applied Data Engineer Volunteer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to fighting the world’s greatest injustices, particularly human trafficking. They are seeking an Anti-Trafficking Applied Data Engineer Volunteer to implement machine learning models and optimize data infrastructure to support their mission of combating trafficking and improving their data-driven interventions.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and deploying machine learning models and data analytics solutions into scalable, production-ready applications
• Designing and optimizing data pipelines to support real-time and batch-processing of anti-trafficking data
• Collaborating with data scientists and software engineers to integrate insights into actionable systems and decision-making tools
• Enhancing data storage, retrieval, and processing efficiency to support intelligence-led investigations and trend analysis
• Improving and maintaining LJI’s data architecture to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security across various data sources

Skills

• A strong commitment to social justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations
• Highly self-motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, machine learning engineering, or a related role
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant data engineering tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Spark, or similar frameworks)
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments
