Description

This position offers a W-2 rate of up to $50 per hour for an 8-month contract and is fully remote, requiring candidates to be located in the Eastern Time Zone of the US. The primary purpose of this position is to support various projects proposed in the Medicaid/HIE APD, ensuring they progress within the set schedule, budget, scope, and resources. You will collaborate with external partners and stakeholders, including NC HealthConnex participants and DHHS representatives, to develop and implement quality services aimed at improving population health outcomes in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Knowledge of clinical standardized code systems such as CPT, LOINC, and ICD-10
  • Understanding of data quality best practices, governance, and security requirements
  • Mature knowledge of health information exchange data standards and formats, including EHR data architecture
  • Subject matter expert (SME) level of knowledge in clinical data, EHRs, HL7 v2, and C-CDA messages
  • Proven experience with clinical data ETL techniques, data verification, and data quality management
  • Experience with analyzing and documenting processes and requirement specifications
  • Understanding of IT architectural principles and technical designs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with non-technical clients
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulatory compliance concerning EHR/EMR systems and HIE
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools including Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as a productive team member on a project team

Responsibilities

  • Support projects in the Medicaid/HIE APD to ensure timely progress
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to improve population health
  • Develop and implement quality services based on project requirements
  • Analyze and document processes and specifications for clinical workflows
  • Ensure adherence to data quality and governance standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with clinical standardized code systems such as CPT, LOINC, and ICD-10
  • 6+ years of experience creating and maintaining SQL queries and BI dashboards
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office documents (e.g., SP, Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred

  • Relevant degrees in healthcare, information technology, or related disciplines

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in healthcare informatics or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and team collaboration
